Costa CROISIERES Named Best for MEDITERRANEAN Itineraries By Porthole Readers

Genoa, November 11, 2014Costa Cruises received once again top billing in Porthole Cruise Magazine’s 2014 Readers’ Choice Awards for the category “Best Mediterranean Itineraries”.

Porthole is one of the most important US cruise magazine featuring exciting editorial and stunning photos on cruises, from ship reviews and destinations to life onboard and ashore.Porthole Cruise Magazine’s Readers’ Choice Awards are determined, each year, by thousands of the publication’s readers who vote on their favorite cruise lines in a variety of categories.

Costa Cruises is the undisputed leader in the Mediterranean, where it boasts a tradition spanning more than six decades and was the first cruise company to operate cruises all year round.  In 2015, Costa will deploy 13 ships across the eastern and western Mediterranean on itineraries ranging from three to 15 days.

“When it comes to Mediterranean itineraries, Costa Cruises brings its experience and deep-rooted understanding of the destination to cruisers,” said Bill Panoff, publisher and editor-in-chief of Porthole Cruise Magazine. “It’s that expertise that our readers continually recognize and appreciate, and I congratulate Costa on its much-deserved win.”

Departing from several countries and ports, Costa ships allow guests to explore some of the most popular, historical and cultural cities in the Mediterranean. Starting from November 2014 until the end of 2015, Costa Diadema, the new flagship of Costa Cruises and the “Regina del Mediterraneo” (Queen of the Mediterranea Sea) will leave on 7-day cruises in the western Mediterranean Sea, calling every week at Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Naples and La Spezia. Costa Diadema will thus offer her guests the chance of visiting in a single cruise Florence and Naples, two of the most popular Italian cities, and beautiful Mediterranean cities like Barcelona and Marseille.

Among the wide range of cruises in the Mediterranean Sea, in 2015 Costa will propose again the much-appreciated Costa neoCollection itineraries with Costa neoRiviera, Costa neoRomantica and Costa neoClassica, which will offer “slow” cruises away from the bustle of mass tourism in the eastern and western Mediterranean, including destinations declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Furthermore, designed for those who would like to experience a Costa cruise without having a full week available or are interested in a short break to relax, Costa ships offers 3/4/5-night mini-cruises in the Mediterranean Sea departing from Savona.
